July Round-Up

OMSI Dinosaur ExhibitAnother busy month both work and personal. I took a little time off this month to enjoy vacation with my husband too, and we went to OMSI with some friends from Florida.  I loved the dinosaur exhibit although T-Rex almost ate me. (See picture on right.)

On the work side of things I finished my series on local foods for the Wellness Consultants.

Local Food Part 3 – Is Our Food Pesticide-Laden?

Local Food Part 4 – Oregon’s Bounty

I wrote a Daily Inspiration for GodSpeaks. As well as helping them kick it up a notch by adding images to the daily posts and then pinning them to our Pinterest account.

I Am – Daily Inspiration

With Godspeaks we also worked to make our daily reminders on Facebook more visual. You can see example of 3 of those visuals below. They really help the reminders stand out in the newsfeed.

I also finally finished Part 1 of my review on the Circle Maker. Check it out on my book site:

Although I didn’t write it I want to highlight the Forever Changed International blog, A New Place to Play : A Playhouse For The Children of Dorie’s Promise, because you just have to see the great playhouse volunteers built for the children at Dorie’s Promise.

July means berries in Oregon and that means the Oregon Berry Festival. A great two day event in Portland. I helped Oregon Women for Ag by running their booth in the children’s area. We made growing bracelets with the kids and talked about what it takes to grow our food.

I also helped with the annual service project in Albany which brings together 20+ churches to paint and landscape at local schools on a Sat. I keep the ServeINC website up to date, send emails and do the social media. I also wrote this report for them 5 Years Running: The 2014 Day of Service Report.

It’s a fantastic event and I am really grateful to be a part of it. I hope the churches can keep this going for many more years to come.

That’s it for July, August is already off to a great start!
